Agility is a dog sport where a handler and dog complete an obstacle course in the fastest time.
Competitors are categorised based on ability into Novice, Excellent and Masters classes, and also seperated into height groups so that similar size dogs compete against each other.
Entry is open to any dog on a Dogs Australia Register, including Sporting and Associate Registers
There are several types of courses offered at the Agility Nationals.
AGILITY - Jumps (wing, broad, spread, hoop), tunnels, weavers and contacts (A Frame, see-saw and dog walk)
JUMPING - Jumps (wing, broad, spread, hoop) and tunnels
OPENS - Same as above but with a section where the dog must be handled at distance.
GAMES
SNOOKER - Complete a jump and then an obstacle 3 times, followed by all obstacles in order.
GAMBLERS - Complete as many obstacles as possible in 45 seconds, but obstacles can only be completed twice, followed by a handling at distance section
PAIRS - 2 dogs and 2 handlers must complete an AGILITY course. What could possibly go wrong?
