Hey, I am Vendula and together with my poodle Eliot, we are passionate agility folks and travellers. We are exploring agility around the world, discovering fascinating people and dogs' stories and we jump headfirst to any new adventure.
I have been in agility since 2000 and I am
I started with Agility in 2000 when I was 12 yo. I started and I haven't finished yet. It's been 23 years now as I am writing these lines. Agility is a big part of my life and heart. I trained and competed with all of my dogs and each of them allowed me to look at this sport from a different point of view. So many competitions, feelings, experiences, and a lot of fun.
Already in primary school, all my notebooks were full of course sketches and sequences. So when I was 20 years old I enrolled for judges training. I did three years of training, and after that, I became a Slovakian national judge. Early in 2018, I was appointed as an international judge and one big adventure started. At that time I quit my office job and agility became my full-time job. Since then I’ve been leading seminars in course handling/design and mental-related preparation for handlers. On top of that judging, and traveling
around the world following my beloved passion: agility.
I was honored to be invited to most European countries and besides that to countries such as Japan, Singapore, the USA, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador and last year as well to Australia.
For me the main purpose of the course is to be Fun to run, Fun to watch, and Fun to judge. I am following the latest trends, and other judges who inspire me, and after all trying to combine it with my vision of the sport. I am known for my speedy, technical demanding, and (most important for me) always fluent courses! The courses that allow you to feel the flow!
I have been doing an online course Fun to Course Design already for the last four years where I am helping other agility trainers, competitors, or judges to find their style and realize what is important to keep in mind while designing safe, fluent, and funny courses. I love to judge and see so many handler’s styles and attitudes inside the ring. I love to train other people and see their happy faces when they are pushing their limits. And last but not least I love to run with Eliot. Hell yes!
It is a big party to go to the ring. Adrenaline is pumping, the heartbeat increases, and concentration is at maximum. You know what I am talking about. Pure joy. ;)
As a trainer, I use positive reinforcement! Towards the dogs as well as towards my dear students. I love to support the teams, boost their agility ego, help them find the best way of handling, and improve even smaller details. I love the feeling when my students are proud of themself and their dogs because that's what counts at the end of the day!
