I feel very privileged to be asked to judge at the 2024 Australian Agility Nationals in Sydney and wish to extend a sincere thank you to the Dogs NSW Agility Nationals working group for the invitation. This will be my first time judging in Australia although I did come over to support the NZ contingent at the 2016 championships.
I have been involved in agility for around 20 years and have competed with dogs of all heights, from a very big ridgeback cross to a small border terrier. For the past 14 years I have competed mostly with my border collies, several of whom have qualified as jumpers and agility champions. I currently compete with my border collie Winter, and a BC x Papillion (Dance) that I bred from her.
I first became a judge around 2007 and have seen a lot of changes in equipment, course design and dog height classes in NZ over the years! I love setting fast and flowing courses with subtle challenges and watching dogs opening up and really enjoying themselves. I have judged the NZ Nationals three times, the most recent being our 2023 Nationals in October.
I know how special competing at a national event is and its awesome to be part of that through judging. Cannot wait to see you all out there having fun with your dogs and being part of some amazing memories.
