Karen Winzar
Biography
My name is Karen and I am from Cairns in Far North Queensland. I got hooked on agility in Alice Springs NT back in 2007 and Darwin with my Black Labrador Darla when handling was what you did with your lead. We have come a long way since then and I am happy to see most of the safety improvements in this sport as this is a really important subject to me.
I then competed with my now retired Chocolate Labrador Cleo at QLD state titles in Elite Agility and Jumping Qualifying for the finals in Agility. Fast forward to today and I am now semi distance handling a crazy fast rescue border collie Luna and having fun with directionals and verbal cues.
My course design style is fast, flowy but technically challenging, to test skills whist having lots of fun.
I run my own private PAWsitive Dog Care and Training business being totally surrounded by dogs all day that I constantly want to steal and start training in Agility myself.
I can sometimes have crazy colours in my hair that match my Border collies tail but it is definitely not a tug toy!
When I'm not busy judging feel free to come and chat about anything agility or dogs.
